The 2010 @soccerplus_org mini camp has come to close.  Looking at the numbers in the last 6 days, I have been fortunate to work with over 100 goalkeepers traveling over 6000 miles in 3 states.  Each site was full of new and old SoccerPlus members and it was great to work with everyone.   Here is a quick recap.

Virginia was the first site of my trip.  I drove up to Strikers Soccer Complex to meet up with former SoccerPlus Director Skye Bruce.  It was great to work with and see Skye once again.  Several years ago when I was a camper at Soccerplus attending ANTC, Skye was the driver of my shuttle van.  I will not comment on her driving skills but I do remember her passion and enthusiasm for goalkeeping.  The Virginia Clinic was an awesome experience for all of the participants.  Thank you all for coming out!

The next stop in my journey was in San Francisco California at Cal East Bay.  An early flight got me out to California and I quickly tried to adjust to the time change.  On the first day of our clinic we had a very large turn out with all being introduced to SoccerPlus for the first time.  The second night we had a very similar turn out and as usual the weather was gorgeous in California.   A special thanks needs to go out to former SoccerPlus Director Andy Cumbo for his efforts in helping this clinic.

After taking the red eye from California to Indiana it was time for our 3rd and final clinic of our mini tour.  I recently graduated from a school in Indianapolis and spent several years coaching youth soccer at Zionsville Youth Soccer Association.  We had a HUGE turnout with almost 50 goalkeepers in attendance.   It was great to return to my old stomping grounds and work with youth goalkeepers again.  A special thanks needs to go out to all of the Zionsville staff for all of their help and support.

Overall… GREAT TRIP!  It was great meeting new goalkeepers and spreading the SoccerPlus philosophy onto them.  To me SoccerPlus is not only a camp or organization, it is a family.  A family that has rich tradition in the development and education of Goalkeepers.  Once you become apart of the SoccerPlus family is will stay with you the rest of your life.  It was my pleasure to help spread the word of SoccerPlus across the country.

With our University of Duke Camps starting in the morning I must turn my attention in another direction.  I am excited for another fulfilling summer with SoccerPlus.

Thank you to everyone that made the 2010 SoccerPlus Mini Tour possible.  A huge thank you goes out to Jason Grubb for all of his efforts in the planing and the execution of this tour.  Bees Knees
